Ukraine received the bodies of another 64 defenders of the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol as part of an exchange of fallen soldiers in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, reported the press service of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Occupied Territories of Ukraine on Facebook on June 14.

The Ministry of Reintegration said that the agreement on the exchange was reached as a result of negotiations with the participation of Oleh Kotenko, Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances.

The operation was carried out with the cooperation of the department, as well as the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the SBU Security Service of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and other law enforcement agencies.

The process of returning the bodies of the dead Ukrainian soldiers continues in accordance with the Geneva Convention.

On June 4, it became known that Ukraine and the Russian Federation exchanged the bodies of dead soldiers, under a 160 for 160 agreement, for the first time.

On June 7, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense clarified that they had already managed to obtain the return of the bodies of 210 Ukrainian soldiers, most of whom had fallen in the defense of Mariupol.

The identification of these bodies is underway.
