The Ukrainian National Guard eliminated about 70 invading Russian troops on the Kreminna section of the front in one action, the head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration Serhiy Hayday said on Telegram on Feb. 24.
According to him, Russian forces tried to attack with three companies in the area of Kreminna on Feb. 23, but the enemy attack flopped.
"One company of Russians went to a Kobzon concert (the late Soviet-era singer Iosif Kobzon — ed.), which is about 70 soldiers,” Hayday said, using a common Ukrainian euphemism for the elimination of enemy troops.
“The number of wounded is still being established," Hayday went on.
The regional governor said the situation in Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast is stable.
"The situation on the Svatove section of the front (in Luhansk Oblast) is also more or less calm after a recent unsuccessful attack by orcs (Russian soldiers) supported by heavy equipment," Hayday said.
Over the year of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders have killed almost 147,000 enemy troops, including 970 on Feb. 23, according to data from the Ukrainian military’s General Staff.
