Up to 8,000 Ukrainian troops underwent basic military training abroad, with 3,000 more currently being trained, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of Ukraine’s General Staff Oleksiy Hromov said during a briefing on Nov. 24.

"On the basic military training: to date, 7,500 troops have finished training, while another 2,900 are (currently) undergoing it," said Hromov.

He noted that training is ongoing abroad, with Ukraine’s international partners involved in the program.

"These drills are progressing according to plan, at our partners’ facilities, and in accordance with our needs as we’ve estimated them," Hromov concluded.
