This latest package of German security assistance to Ukraine was initially announced on Oct 12.

On Oct. 11, Germany announced it has handed over the first IRIS-T air defense system to Ukraine. Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany will transfer three more IRIS-Ts to Kyiv as soon as they are manufactured.

Ukrainian Air Force recently said IRIS-T turned out to be exceptionally effective at securing critical infrastructure against Russian missile and drone strikes.
