Russia attacked Kyiv with missiles on Oct. 10 for the first time since June 26. Missile strikes hit targets in the city center — in the Shevchenkivskyi district, as well as in the Sviatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts.

Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Rostyslav Smirnov said that eight people were killed and 24 were injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district as a result of the missile strikes.

Later, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that five people were killed and 32 injured.

NV has compiled photographs of the aftermath of the strikes.

One of the Russian missiles fell near the monument to Mykhailo Hrushevsky on Volodymyrska Street. Another strike hit the so-called "Klychko Bridge" — a pedestrian glass bridge near the Volodymyrska Hill park.

Other structures impacted in central Kyiv include the Khanenko Museum, the Taras Shevchenko National Museum, the National Philharmonic orchestra building, and a children's playground.

A blast wave also damaged the windows of the Central Railway Station, the building of the Shevchenko University, the business center 101 Tower, and a consular visa building belonging to the German Embassy. German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen had to evacuate to a bomb shelter.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko said that due to the strikes in Kyiv and the region, emergency power outage schedules were being implemented. Later, the DTEK energy company warned that electricity in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast will be cut off for about two hours.
