The Russian army attacked Mykolaiv with Iskander-K missiles in the early hours of April 27, Yuriy Ihnat, Air Force command spokesperson, said on national television on April 28.

It has been verified that the attack was carried out from land, not from the sea, he said.

Iskander-K missiles have tactical and technical characteristics like Kalibr missiles. The difference is, however, that the Iskander-K is strictly a ground-based missile, not a sea-based missile, he clarified.

“These missiles are very difficult to shoot down because they fly very low, which makes them difficult to detect, although there have been cases of them being shot down by (Ukrainian) air defense,” he said.

The Russian army attacked Mykolaiv with four missiles on the night of April 27. The missiles took a complex trajectory, said the Southern Operational Command.

One person was killed, and 23 were injured.
