A large-scale air raid alert was announced in Ukraine on Nov. 29 due to the threat of a Russian missile attack, Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat stated on national TV.
“Today there was a threat of a missile attack by ground weapons,” he said.
However, the Air Force is ready to repel enemy missile attacks, Ihnat added.
An air raid alert was declared in all regions of Ukraine, except for occupied Crimea. After 15 minutes, call-offs began in the west and in the center of the country. The alarm lasted the longest in Mykolaiv Oblast — 38 minutes.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia is preparing new missile strikes. According to him, the current week may be as difficult as the last.
The Air Force stated that the Ukrainian military is ready to repel the attack, and also called on Ukrainians not to panic, to respond to air raid sirens, and to observe safety measures.
