Ukraine will receive about $1 billion in assistance for the winter period following a fundraising event in France.

At an international conference, Solidarity With Ukrainian People, hosted by Paris on Dec. 14, Ukraine secured almost $1 billion in assistance, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Telegram.

"Our result of the conference is about $500 million in grants – completely new funds, which were agreed at this conference, and about $500 million in goods, services, and additional loans for further support of the public sector's enterprises," the official said.

According to Shmyhal, Ukraine will receive most of the assistance in the near future, and the rest by the end of 2022.

In addition, the European Commission will finance the purchase of about 30 million energy-efficient LED bulbs for Ukraine, which should also arrive by the end of the year.
