A twelfth installment of U.S. military aid to Ukraine arrived at Boryspil airport outside the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv on Feb. 11, Ukrainian Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov reported in a tweet.

According to the minister, the United States has supplied Ukraine with over 1,300 tons of aid this year.

“Another 90 tons of U.S. ammunition for Ukraine’s Armed Forces arrived today; the total weight of US military aid at the moment exceeds 1,300 tons,” Reznikov wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, the United States provided Ukraine with a shipment of U.S. Javelin anti-tank missile systems.

Earlier this year, the U.S. State Department said that Washington is considering sending portable air defense systems – specifically FIM-92 Stingers – to Ukraine. Following talks with Moscow, the White House is reportedly pessimistic about the prospects of averting a new Russian invasion of Ukraine, and is debating expanding U.S. military aid to Kyiv.

These U.S. arms deliveries join additional shipments of light anti-tank weapons from the UK on Jan. 18. The Baltic states, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic have all also provided arms to Ukraine or expressed their readiness to do so.

In a joint statement by Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian defense ministers on Jan. 21, Estonia said it will send Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine, with Latvia and Lithuania supplying Kyiv with more Stingers.

Germany has repeatedly refused to send arms to Ukraine, citing its “pledge to not supply conflict zones with weapons.” Ukraine has communicated to Berlin the list of military equipment it would like to get access to, according to earlier media reports

Sweden has also refused to provide arms to Ukraine, citing long-standing Swedish policy, but promised that it would continue to support Ukraine’s reform efforts financially.
