The Belarusian authorities said the drills would take place at the Brest training ground, as well as in Minsk and Vitebsk regions.

Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov said on Sept. 7 that Russia was recruiting citizens of Belarus to participate in the war against Ukraine.

In turn, Ukraine’s General Staff warned that Belarus was preparing for military exercises, which would probably involve training for the capture of Ukraine’s Volyn, Rivne, and Zhytomyr oblasts.

The Belarusky Gayun monitoring group reported the training zone of the Belarusian air forces had shifted closer to the borders with Ukraine since the beginning of this week.

At the same time, Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko claimed that Belarus supports Russia’s war against Ukraine, but will not take part in it unless attacked first.
