Belarusian specialists are helping repair Russian combat aircraft for their further use in the war against Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported on Aug. 20.

According to intelligence data, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense and the Russian government have signed urgent contracts for the repair and restoration of aviation equipment.

“In particular, employees of the 558th aircraft repair plant (Baranovichi) periodically go on business trips as part of ‘field groups’ to carry out work on the restoration and commissioning of aircraft equipment at the 121st aircraft repair plant (the territory of the Kubinka air base),” reads the report.

It is noted that the work is mainly carried out on MiG-29-type aircraft.

The Ukrainian intelligence believes that specialists of the Armed Forces of Belarus are carrying out work on removing old warplanes from storage and demothballing them for further use in the war against Ukraine.
