The bodies of 27 people killed during the occupation of the town of Snihurivka, Mykolaiv Oblast, by Russian forces have been located, local publication Novosti-N reported on Feb. 15, referring to the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Dmytro Kozak.
According to him, the bodies of the dead have signs of violent death – bullet wounds, injuries from ammunition explosions, etc.
Unlike Bucha, a Kyiv suburb that was likewise occupied and contains copious evidence of Russian atrocities against the civilian population, no mass burial sites have thus far been found in Snihurivka.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated following the discovery of these bodies, local authorities said. The identities of those killed are currently being established.
Snihurivka was liberated on Nov. 10, one of the key precursors to the later liberation of the city of Kherson.
