Ukrainian law enforcement has found the bodies of two men, apparently executed by Russian troops, in a wooded area near Bucha, Kyiv Oblast, regional police chief Andrii Nebytov said in a Telegram post on Sept. 20.

According to Nebytov, the grave site is next to the village of Myrotske, where the bodies of 18 civilians were found earlier.

One of the victims had his hands tied, a hat pulled over his head, and a duct tape wound around his neck.

The other one was wearing the clothes with the insignia of Ukraine’s security service academy.

Police are working to identify the victims.

Following the month-long Russian occupation of Bucha and nearby Irpin and Hostomel in Kyiv Oblast, numerous bodies of tortured and killed civilians have been uncovered.

As of Aug. 5, the bodies of 1,348 murdered civilians have been found in Kyiv Oblast. As much as 90% of the exhumed bodies had gunshot wounds.

Moscow falsely maintains that all evidence of Russian war crimes near Kyiv and elsewhere is fabricated as a part of an apparent smear campaign against the country.
