Borrell calls on European countries to expedite tank transfer to Ukraine

European countries should work to supply Ukraine with tanks as soon as possible, the EU’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell, said during a meeting of the European Parliament on Feb. 15.
“I want to appeal to countries that have modern tanks, but they are just standing and covered with dust, not being used,” he said.
“Hand over these tanks to Ukraine, do it as soon as possible.”
According to him, the outcome of the war will be decided in spring and summer, making it necessary to help Ukraine militarily, as well as to make all diplomatic efforts necessary for peace to come as soon as possible.
“These are not alternatives,” he noted.
“They do not contradict each other. We have to do both things in parallel.”
