Bulgaria’s Defense Ministry has finalized the list of weapons and ammunition it plans to transfer to Ukraine, Bulgarian news outlet Novinite reported on Dec. 2.
The details of the package are kept secret, and it would have to go through the Bulgarian parliament first.
According to Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria Vitaliy Moskalenko, the list is “long and serious.” It includes artillery systems, defense equipment, artillery shells, and ammunition. The weapons will be dispatched to Ukraine – likely via Poland – in nine Boeing C-17 military transport aircraft.
It is noted that Bulgaria will not transfer S-300 anti-air systems, as the country still relies on them for domestic air defense.
On Nov. 3, the Bulgarian parliament voted to provide Ukraine with security assistance.
