The Canadian Parliament supports the immediate abolition of the visa regime for citizens of Ukraine, according to a parliament committee report dated March 30.

“We call on the Government of Canada to implement visa-free travel from Ukraine to Canada, including by the rapid issuance of an electronic travel authorization,” reads the parliamentary committee report, which was endorsed by the majority of Canadian MPs.

The adopted document also calls for support for the people of Ukraine who have suffered as a result of Russian aggression.

“We condemn the unwarranted and unprovoked attack on Ukraine, which was ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin, a clear violation of international law,” the Canadian lawmakers said.

A decision on granting a visa-free regime to Ukraine is now to be considered by the Canadian government.
