China denies reports of Russian request for military aid
The Chinese embassy in the United States has refuted earlier reports of Moscow requesting Chinese military aid in the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine, Reuters reported on March 14.
The embassy’s spokesperson, Liu Pengyu, has apparently “never heard” of such overtures from the Russian government.
"The current situation in Ukraine is indeed disconcerting," Pengyu said.
According to him, China’s priority is to “prevent the tense situation from escalating or even getting out of control.”
