Ukrainian Forces have continued to conduct localized counter attacks to the northwest of the capital city Kyiv, including in the towns of Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel, the UK Ministry of Defense tweeted on March 29, referring to the latest Defense Intelligence update.

UK intelligence said that "these attacks have had some success and the Russians have been pushed back from a number of positions."

"However, Russia still poses a significant threat to the city through their strike capability," reads the update.

It is noted that Russian Forces have maintained their offensive on the port city of Mariupol with continuous heavy shelling of the city, but that "the center of the city remains under Ukrainian control."

"Elsewhere, Russian Forces are maintaining blocking positions while attempting to reorganize and reset their forces," UK intelligence said.
