Russian Kalibr missile crashes in occupied Crimea, local media reports

A crashed Russian Kalibr missile has been discovered in occupied Crimea, the Astra Telegram channel reported on May 18. 

According to the channel, it was allegedly found near the village of Vulkanivka early in the morning of May 17. The Russian missile was discovered by a shepherd.

The experts who arrived at the scene concluded that the downed missile was a Kalibr belonging to the Russian Defense Ministry.

There are no reported victims.

Russian troops systematically use Kalibr missiles to attack mainland Ukraine, typically launched from warships stationed in the Black Sea.

During a mass missile strike in the early hours of May 16, nine Kalibr missiles were fired at Kyiv, all of which were shot down.

During another attack in the early hours of May 18, Ukrainian air defense forces managed to intercept all six missiles launched at Ukraine.
