Only the liberation of those territories seized by Russia, including Donbas and Crimea, can stop this war, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview at Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore on Nov. 17.
"Crimea is part of Ukraine,” he explained.
“This is not just a state within a state, it’s part of our country and part of our sovereignty. Therefore, the de-occupation of Crimea and Donbas will in fact bring an end to the war.”
Zelenskyy said its Kyiv’s choice on how to finish this war, though the exact timeframe is unknown.
In August, Zelenskyy said the liberation of Crimea should bring the Russian war against Ukraine to the end, as it has begun with the occupation of the peninsula in 2014.
Military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov believes that Ukrainian troops will enter Crimea by the end of next spring.
