Crimea’s local occupation administration will "nationalize" Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s family apartment in Yalta, the "head" of the occupied Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, said in a Telegram post on May 24.

"Crimea continues to nationalize the property of Russia's enemies," the occupier said.

Also to be “nationalized” are a building in Simferopol that belonged to the Mejlis (representative body of the Crimean Tatars – ed.), and Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska's apartment in Yalta, said Aksyonov.

The Crimean apartment of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's wife, Olena, is located in the elite residential complex Imperator in Livadia. Zelenska bought it in April 2013.

The president's representatives stated that he and his wife would use this property only "after the mandatory return of Crimea to Ukraine."

Crimean occupation authorities claimed in Sept. 2021 that Zelenskyy had stopped paying utility bills for his apartment in Livadia and threatened him with legal action.
