The martial law imposed curfew in Ukraine will continue to operate on New Year’s Eve, Mariana Reva, a spokesperson for the National Police, said on national TV on Dec. 25.
“People need to understand that regardless of whether we have a holiday or a non-holiday, there are certain curfew requirements,” she explained.
“Police officers will check people, check their documents, take them to police stations for identification or verification.”
If a person is out on the street during the curfew and cannot return home in time, they can turn to the warming points that operate in police precincts and deployed mobile points.
The National Police official also reminded citizens that pyrotechnic devices are currently prohibited throughout Ukraine: “Think about the people who are psychologically suffering from the conditions of war, who can mistake the sounds of salutes for the sounds of explosions.”
