Defense Ministry says army smoothing lines, taking control of strategic heights on battlefield

Ukraine’s army is maintaining a positional defense on all areas of the front, while advances are being made in some areas, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar said on Ukrainian national television on Oct. 26.
“In the last few days and now, as we speak, a positional defense is continuing in all sections of the front. And in some areas of the front line there is a certain advance forward, with the aim of leveling the front line, taking over crucial heights,” she said.
“War is always dynamic” and sometimes many events happen at the front, some of them can be happy, and some can be sad, Malyar said.
“There is no need to question anything too much, as everyone likes to do. You just have to trust the Armed Forces,” she added.
According to Malyar, the General Staff also keeps solving military tasks using its own information, so until certain actions are completed successfully this information is not announced.
The ultimate goal of the Armed Forces is the liberation of all territories, Malyar said.
“The Ukrainian military understands well where the Russians provoke us and where they are deceiving us,” she said.
