A new program for the reconstruction of Ukraine in 2023 was announced by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen at a joint briefing with colleagues from Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and Finland in the Ukrainian Black Sea coastal city of Odesa on April 28.

“The main goal of the program is to restore Ukraine. The restoration of Mykolaiv will be a significant focus of this program,” the minister said, referring to Odesa’s neighboring regional center to the east.

He said Denmark would not stop supporting Ukraine, and he condemned the recent shelling of Mykolaiv.

Troels Lund Poulsen, Denmark’s defense minister, added that Denmark supports Ukraine’s fight for freedom together with the rest of the free world.

“That is why we will continue to support Ukrainians with military equipment, financing, and training to support their struggle against Russia,” Poulsen said.

On the night of April 27, the Russian army attacked Mykolaiv with four missiles. The Ukrainian military’s South Operational Command stated that the missiles had been guided along a complex trajectory that made it difficult for them to be intercepted.

One civilian was killed, and 23 were injured in the Russian missile attack.
