The Ukrainian electricity grid started emergency power outages throughout Ukraine in the aftermath of a mass Russian missile strike on Nov. 15, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko reported on Telegram.

He said the current rolling schedules would not be observed for the time being.

"We are forced to do this to balance electricity grids and avoid equipment failures,” Klitschko said.

He also said about half of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv is without power right now.

On Nov. 15, after several weeks of relative quietness, Russia launched another mass missile strike against Ukraine, and Kyiv in particular.
