Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy greeted the European Parliament with a traditional Ukrainian saying: “Slava Ukraini!” (Glory to Ukraine!), and received the traditional choral response: "Heroyam Slava!" (Glory to the heroes!), as seen on a video published by NV.ua on Feb.9.

His appearance before the assembled European officials was marked with heavy applause.

Zelenskyy arrived in Brussels on Feb. 9, during a European Council summit.

The European Council (informally EUCO) is a collegiate body that defines the overall political direction and priorities of the European Union. It consists of 27 heads of state or government of the EU members.

The two-day summit is meant to discuss the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine and the latest related events, the EU's support of Ukraine, as well as summarizing the results of the EU-Ukraine summit that was held in Kyiv on Feb. 3.

Zelenskyy is scheduled to discuss the supply of long-range weapons, heavy combat vehicles, and other equipment with European leaders.
