The European Union adopted a tenth package of sanctions against Russia on the anniversary of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell announced in a Twitter post on Feb. 25.

The sanctions are aimed in particular at Russian propaganda and those involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children.

The new sanctions package provides for the inclusion of 121 individuals and legal entities in the EU's blacklists. They will be subject to "significant" import/export restrictions.

The sanctions apply in particular to those responsible for the deportation of at least 6,000 Ukrainian children.

In addition, the new EU sanctions include a ban on Russian propaganda media.

The sanctions will be published in the EU's Official Journal.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already reacted to the EU's decision. He said that pressure on Moscow should increase and called for sanctions against Russia's nuclear sector.

"The 10th EU sanctions package targets Russia's military industry, propaganda and financial system," Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter.

“The pressure on the Russian aggressor must increase: we expect decisive steps against Rosatom and the Russian nuclear industry, more pressure on the military and banking.”
