There have been explosions and a fire at the Maxmarine yacht club – frequented by Russian occupation officials – in occupied Nova Kakhovka in Kherson Oblast, local Telegram channels and advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko reported on Feb. 5.
Allegedly, not only the boats moored at the yacht club caught fire after the explosions, but also buildings where the Russian occupation officials often gathered were damaged.
"Nova Kakhovka, yacht club. Quite a strike on the premises where the occupiers liked to gather," Gerashchenko’s message reads, implying that Ukraine was responsible for the explosions.
Nova Kakhovka, on the left (eastern bank) of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast, is well within range of Ukraine’s HIMARS multiple launch rocket system.
There are currently no official reports about the explosions in the town.
