In a Facebook broadcast on May 8, the Mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov said that on May 9, Russian invaders are preparing to stage a false-flag in the temporarily occupied southern Ukrainian city.

He warns residents that the occupiers are intending to shell civilians at Russian-organized rallies.

"According to law enforcement agencies and the Armed Forces, they [the Russian occupiers] plan to shoot civilians, disperse rally goers — everything to incite chaos and panic on May 9," said the mayor.
