Amidst fierce fighting in the suburbs of Severodonetsk, Luhansk Oblast, Russian attacks have left six civilians dead in the region, head of the regional administration Serhiy Hayday said in a Telegram post on May 21.
Two people were killed by Russian fire, while sheltering at one of Severodonetsk schools. Two more Ukrainians died near their home in the city. In Lysychansk and Pryvillia, two women were killed by Russian attacks.
A volunteer sustained a leg injury, while working at a humanitarian aid depot in Severodonetsk.
In total, the invaders destroyed around 50 houses across the region in 24 hours.
“The Russians were also firing at a school and Azot company grounds, setting a cooling tower there ablaze; the fire has been extinguished, before it could spread to nearby production facilities,” said Hayday.
“Lysychansk also had it rough: a bunker full of coal at a coal mine was on fire.”
