Armed clashes erupted all along the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Kyrgyz government sources reported on Sept. 16.

Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan accused it neighbors of a "treacherous attack".

“The authorities of Tajikistan are not able to control the situation, moreover, they contribute to the escalation of armed clashes,” a statement by the Kyrgyz government reads.

In return, Dushanbe, the Tajik capital, claims that the Kyrgyz military had shelled a number of settlements.
