Criminal gangs in Finland have captured some weapons, such as assault rifles, shipped by various countries to Ukrainian armed forces, Finnish newspaper Yle reported on Oct. 30, with reference to Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

According to the NBI, they have developed routes, connections, and connections needed for trafficking illegal weapons from Ukraine to Finland.

“Three of the world’s largest motorcycle gangs – that are part of larger international organisations – are active in Finland,” NBI Detective Superintendent Christer Ahlgren told Yle.

“One of these is Bandidos MC, which has a unit in every major Ukrainian city. We know that contacts and routes are being warmed up, so that they’re in place.”

He stressed that weapons shipped by various countries to Ukraine have also been found in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands.

Small guns, hand grenades, and strike drones are also on the search list along with rifles, he said.

The NBI says it does not want to release more details about the weapons while investigations are underway.
