The Russian military has stationed 13 warships on active duty in the Black Sea, including four missile carriers equipped with 24 Kalibr missiles, Ukrainian military’s South Operational Command said on social media on March 2.

“The enemy naval group in the Black Sea consists of 13 warships, with four missile carriers, including two submarines,” the report says.

According to the Ukrainian military, the Russians have not stopped aerial reconnaissance. Ukrainian air defense systems shot down an Orlan-10 UAV in the Kherson area.

Earlier, 17 Russian warships were deployed in the Black Sea, including five missile carriers with a total salvo of 32 Kalibr missiles.

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said the issue of Russian missile carriers in the Black Sea could be solved with the help of the F-16 fighter jets.

Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, said on Feb. 28 that Russia might launch a massive missile attack on Ukraine in the coming days.

Mykolayiv regional governor Vitaliy Kim said Russian invaders have been technically ready to launch another missile strike at Ukraine since Feb. 24, but were postponing the attack due to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian intelligence.
