Fragments of missile used in Russian attack on Ukraine found in Moldova for fourth time

After the overnightmissile attack by Russia on Ukraine on Feb. 16, the fragments of a missile were found in Moldova, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova reported on Feb. 16.

Border guards found the wreckage in Larga, Briceni District, which is in the northernmost part of Moldova, about 65 kilometers to the east of the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi. The area where the debris fell was secured, Moldovan authorities said.

The ministry said that this is the fourth case of missile fragments falling on the territory of Moldova as a result of Russian attacks on Ukraine.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhnyi stated that during the previous mass attack by Russia on Ukraine on Feb. 10, Russian missiles were detected in the airspace of Moldova and NATO member country Romania.

As a result of a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine on Jan. 14, fragments of a missile also fell on the territory of Moldova.

On Dec. 5, during the Russian mass shelling of Ukraine in Moldova, a missile fell in the vicinity of the Moldovan border town and district center Briceni, which is about 15 kilometers to the east of Larga.
