France is considering the possibility of providing Ukraine with 12 additional Caesar self-propelled howitzers, French broadcaster BFMTV quoted French President Emmanuel Macron as saying on Oct. 6.
According to the French president, the howitzers will be redirected from an order for Denmark.
“We’re discussing this topic in relation to several mechanisms, but we’re working indeed on several requests, with several members of the EU, including on new Caesars,” he said.
“We’ll continue to support Ukraine in both the financial, (and in the) humanitarian and military (spheres).”
Macron added this would involve assistance in terms of military equipment and training, continuing what France has already been engaged in doing for several months.
Earlier the French government announced its plans to transfer 20 Bastion armored vehicles to Ukraine in the near future.
