The visa office of the German Embassy in Kyiv was hit in a Russian missile attack on the capital city on the morning of Oct. 10, the former director of the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Kyiv, Sergej Sumlenny, wrote on Twitter.
“The building where the visa office of the German embassy in Kyiv was located was hit by Russians today,” he tweeted.
He also appealed to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to provide Ukraine with tanks.
“Maybe some Leopards (battle tanks) can be sent to check the situation on the ground?” Sumlenny asked.
Russia launched a series of missile strikes on the capital city, in particular the central districts, early on Oct. 10.
At the same time, many other Ukrainian oblasts have also been attacked by Russia.
At least eight civilians were killed and another 24 were injured as a result of the strike on Kyiv.
According to President Voldoymyr Zelenskyy, Russia has two targets, namely energy facilities throughout Ukraine and civilians.
