German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said Ukraine will receive additional Gepard anti-aircraft artillery and Iris-T systems in the coming weeks, German newspaper Der Spiegel reported on March 2.

Scholz also said Germany is working to provide Ukraine with additional ammunition.

The German chancellor addressed critics of German arms supplies to Ukraine, and assured Kyiv of Germany’s support until the war ends.

“I assure you the government I lead is serious about making a decision on the supply of weapons,” he said.

“But it’s impossible to negotiate with a gun at the temple, except for your own humility.”

During a visit to Kyiv on Feb. 7, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said the Ukrainian military would receive guided missiles for air defense systems and five Gepards by late February 2023.
