Hackers breached the infrastructure of Russia’s Skolkovo Foundation in the early hours of May 29, exposing materials to the public domain and rendering the foundation’s online resources inaccessible.

The foundation, a non-government organization, confirmed the breach in a statement on their Telegram channel.

The foundation was the brainchild of former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who founded it during his presidency in 2010 to develop advanced technologies. It is named after the Moscow suburb of Skolkovo.

Skolkovo Foundation officials reported that hackers gained access to certain information systems and resources, including a file-sharing platform hosted on the physical infrastructure of the foundation.

Skolkovo stated that a group presenting itself as the “Ukrainian Cyber Front” has claimed responsibility for the breach.

Archives containing materials obtained through the breach have been published on the “sudo rm -RF” Telegram channel.

“Greetings, Skolkovo. Your infrastructure has been destroyed. We have all your documents and project source codes. More to come,” the message from the channel said.

Skolkovo’s resources, including the foundation’s website and online services, are currently inaccessible.

Previously, it was reported that Russian hackers, posing as Islamists, targeted Sweden to impede its accession to NATO.
