A Ukrainian soldier who returned from Russian captivity on April 16 as part of a prisoner swap has called his girlfriend for the first time in five months.

The emotional footage was posted on Facebook today by Yuliia Pryimak, an official with the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

“Hello. How are you? How are you doing? I’m already home,” the Ukrainian soldier said in a video call to his girlfriend.

“I’m so glad to see you! I’ve been dreaming about this for five months.”
