IAEA starts inspections at two facilities in Ukraine, Grossi says

At Kyiv’s request, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts have arrived in Ukraine and started inspections of two Ukrainian nuclear facilities, IAEA’s press office said on Oct. 31, citing the agency’s head, Rafael Grossi.
According to the message, the inspectors are expected to finish their work and present a report later this week.
Last month, IAEA examined one of two facilities in Ukraine, which – according to Russia – were involved in manufacturing a “dirty bomb.” The inspection found no evidence of irregular activity at the site.
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu contacted his French, UK, and Turkish counterparts on Oct. 23, “alerting” them to Ukraine’s plans to allegedly stage false flag operations involving a “dirty bomb” device.
Western leaders and NATO officials have subsequently dismissed the claims as “absurd.”
Ukraine invited the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to send inspectors to examine all Ukrainian nuclear facilities – including the ones where Russia claims the “dirty bomb” is being developed.
