A fire broke out at an industrial facility in Russia’s Belgorod oblast, allegedly due to shelling, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in a Telegram post on Oct. 21.
Earlier reports said a paint and varnish factory was on fire in Shebekino, Belgorod Oblast.
One of the electrical substations in Belgorod caught fire and was taken offline on Oct. 19 – another in a series of apparent accidents across energy infrastructure facilities in the region.
Gladkov repeatedly accused Ukraine of “shelling” Russian territory.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy maintains that Ukraine does not attack Russian territory, focusing instead on liberating its land from Moscow’s occupation.
