Israel to help Ukraine with humanitarian aid, but not arms supplies

Israel supports Ukraine in the face of the Russian aggression, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said in a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov, The Times of Israel reported on Oct. 24.

However, he clarified that due to “operative restrictions” he could not provide Kyiv with weapons.

According to Gantz's office, he received the latest information on the progress of the war, and said that Israel will provide assistance to Ukraine by supplying defense systems.

The ministers agreed to hold urgent talks on the supply of civil alert systems from Israel.

On Oct. 24, The New York Times reported that Israel has provided Ukraine with intelligence, necessary to shoot down Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drones used by Russia to attack Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure.
