Russian air strikes target Kharkiv and surrounding areas

During the last 24 hours, Russian forces have continued to strike Kharkiv and nearby settlements with long-range weapons, head of the regional administration, Oleh Synegubov, said in a Telegram post on June 19.

In particular, Kharkiv’s industrial infrastructure was hit by two Russian air strikes.

“As we can see, the invaders continue to terrorize city civilians with constant attacks, almost on a schedule,” said Synegubov.

“We have to remain vigilant, heed air raid warnings, and observe the curfew!”

Additionally, the official said that an oil refinery was attacked near Izyum. The resulting fire is still being put out. The attack caused no casualties.

A 73-year-old man was killed in the shelling of Andriivka and Donets, near Izyum. One person was injured in at Chuhuiv.

According to Synegubov, fighting is still ongoing along the frontlines in Kharkiv region. Enemy forces attempted reconnaissance operations near Rubizhne and deployed mines around Cherkaski Tyshky.

“The enemy is preparing further advances towards Slovyansk from Izyum,” Synegubov added.

“Our soldiers are mounting a heroic defense and are inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Stay safe, and support our troops!”
