The Ukrainian military has already cleared 44 settlements in Kherson Oblast of Russian troops, reported the acting head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, Dmytro Butriy at a briefing on July 14.
"Most of Kherson Oblast is under temporary occupation. So far, 44 settlements have been liberated," he said.
According to Butriy, the settlements suffer greatly because they are under constant fire from the Russian army.
"They are sustaining a lot of destruction. Infrastructure and residential buildings are being ruined. This is how the ‘Russian world’ wants to destroy our state," he said.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov stated on July 10 that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had ordered the military to de-occupy coastal areas in the south of the country.
On the same day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed six Russian ammunition depots in the temporarily occupied territories, as well as one military unit.
The Ukrainian army has struck twice at the facilities of the Russian Armed Forces in Nova Kakhovka over the past few days. The first rocket attack resulted in the destruction of about 150 Russian soldiers, including a general and five officers, Ukraine's military says.
