Russian troops launched an air raid using Shahed attack drones against Ukraine, including on Kyiv, in the early hours of July 2, the city's military administration said on Telegram.
It was the first drone attack on the Ukrainian capital in the past 12 days, the administration stated. All of the aerial targets approaching Kyiv were shot down in the vicinity of the city.
Currently, no victims or damage from the attack has been reported.
Air-raid sirens could be heard in a number of Ukrainian oblasts at night. A total of eight Shahed drones and three Kalibr cruise missiles were intercepted over Ukraine, the Air Force said on Telegram on July 2.
The launches of the eight Shaheds were carried out from the southeastern direction, while the Kalibrs were launched from the Black Sea. Air defense systems were reported to be operating in the Southern, Eastern and Central Air Command operational areas.
