Kyiv’s downtown areas were hit by Iranian-made kamikaze drones in a Russian attack on the morning of Monday, Oct. 17.

Mayor Vitaliy Klychko confirmed the strike on civilian infrastructure near the center of the capital, speaking to reporters at the scene.

The drones caused damage and fires to several residential buildings

As of 10.00 a.m., reports said 18 people had been rescued from under the rubbles, at least another two remained there.

A fire broke out in an office building in the center of Kyiv after the strike.

Vitaliy Klychko reported about three persons killed, a pregnant woman was among them.

Earlier, the Air Force said Russia’s 26 Iranian-made suicide drones Shahed-136 were downed in the south of the country.
