Lithuanians have purchased a marine drone for Ukraine worth $250,000, Lithuanian journalist Andrius Tapinas reported on Twitter on Nov. 17.
“And in just a few hours, after getting a staggering 12,000 votes, it was named PEACE Dets,” the journalist said. The drone’s name references a common Ukrainian curse word. Tapinas added that fundraising for one more drone continues in Lithuania.
The people of Lithuania convey “best wishes for peace to the Black Sea Fleet of Russia,” Tapinas added.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Nov. 11 announced fundraising for Ukraine’s first fleet of naval drones, on the UNITED24 crowdfunding platform.
