The UK has lifted sanctions against First Deputy Director of Russia’s FSB security service Sergei Korolev, according to a document published on the UK government’s website on March 22.
Korolev was placed on the sanctions list in April 2022. The restrictions included freezing any of his assets in the UK and a ban on entering the country.
The reasons for lifting sanctions against Korolev remain undisclosed.
Korolev assumed his current post in March 2021. He previously served as an adviser to former Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov. In 2017, Korolev joined the supervisory board of Russian nuclear operator Rosatom.
