Ukrainian long-range strike drones have already been used against the Russian military, serviceman and volunteer Yuriy Kasyanov told Radio NV on Nov. 24.
"In fact, Ukrainian ‘Shaheds’ (for the purposes of discussion), long-range strike drones, have long been used against Russian troops, against Russian targets, in particular in Crimea, deep in the territory occupied by the enemy, and in the territory of the Russian Federation,” Kasyanov stated.
“It just does not always become public for various reasons, including for reasons of secrecy.”
Also, the volunteer says, Russia is not always ready to admit that it was struck by Ukrainian long-range UAVs:
"It is painful for their society. This is a ‘great empire’ and here Ukraine strikes them. Soon our ‘Shaheds’ will fly to Moscow and organize the something for them as they organize for us in Kyiv".
On Oct. 17, the state defense concern Ukroboronprom reported that it was completing the development of a Ukrainian strike drone.
"Range — 1,000 km, weight of the warhead — 75 kg. We are completing development," read the update on the project on Facebook at the time.
On the same day, the Come Back Alive foundation reported on social media that together with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine it was preparing a project with a pilot name “Cotton in Moscow.”
Later, Ukroboronprom said that they would be able to present a Ukrainian attack drone to the military by the end of the year.
