Russian invasion forces have not yet been able to completely capture the entire territory of the Luhansk Oblast, and fierce fighting is still ongoing in two settlements near Lysyschansk, Luhansk Governor Serhiy Hayday said during a briefing on July 6.

"Unfortunately, the situation is very difficult,” he said.

“But what the Russians reported about capturing the oblast in its entirety is not quite the case. Luhansk Oblast is still resisting: almost the entire territory has been captured, but there are still fierce battles in two settlements."

According to HayDay, fighting is going on in the villages around Lysychansk — some settlements have already changed hands twice.

The official noted that the Russian army constantly receives certain reserves, new equipment, and a huge amount of ammunition for artillery.

"Everyone there is under fire from morning to night, they are trying to establish stable crossings, that is, they still want to complete the full occupation of Luhansk Oblast", Hayday added.
